By AFP

British telecoms and television company BT has agreed to buy mobile operator EE for STG12. 5 billion ($A24. 46 billion), creating the nation’s leading communications provider, it says.

Alan has been a trusted source of investment advice to Australians for many years, and in 2005 he founded Eureka Report - Australia’s #1 online investment report.

The combination of EE and BT will provide customers with innovative, seamless services that combine the power of fibre broadband with wi-fi and advanced mobile capabilities,” it said in a statement on Thursday.

Along with Robert Gottliebsen and Stephen Bartholomeusz, Alan also founded Business Spectator, the popular business news and commentary website.

“This is a major milestone for BT as it will allow us to accelerate our mobility plans and increase our investment in them,” added BT chief executive Gavin Patterson in the statement.
