The Australian dollar touched 95. 04 US cents, then retreated slightly and was buying 94. 9 US cents at 7:40am (AEST). That is 0. 7 of a cent higher than the same time yesterday, before the latest Reserve Bank statement yesterday afternoon failed to talk down the Australian dollar to the markets’ satisfaction.
The Australian dollar rose overnight to its highest level since November last year, as global markets reacted to yesterday’s statement from the Reserve Bank.
