Goldman Sachs poaches CIMB banker

Mr Lamshed will join Goldman Sachs’ ECM team as an executive director, working with Sean Walsh and Jabe Jerram, a source close to the situation told Data Room.

Goldman Sachs has poached Aaron Lamshed from CIMB to boost its equity capital markets (ECM) team, reporting by Data Room has found.

He is joining the bank at a time of increased activity in Australia’s IPO market, which raised over $7 billion in the year to date including the $2. 26bn offer of Healthscope, according to Bloomberg data.

Alan has been a trusted source of investment advice to Australians for many years, and in 2005 he founded Eureka Report - Australia’s #1 online investment report.

CIMB hired Mr Lamshed two years ago from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he spent 14 years and had worked on IPOs including the $4bn QR National deal.

Mr Lamshed has recently worked on the initial public offering of Healthscope, which raised $2. 26 billion last month in Australia’s biggest float since 2010.

Along with Robert Gottliebsen and Stephen Bartholomeusz, Alan also founded Business Spectator, the popular business news and commentary website.
