Italian manufacturing business confidence fell to its lowest level in a year in August, pulled down by a worsening outlook for orders, weaker view for future production and drop in confidence sentiment, national statistics institute Istat said Thursday.
Italy's composite business confidence index, a broader indicator subsuming also the retail, market-services and construction sectors, fell to 88. 2 from 90. 8 in July, with all its components dropping, Istat said.
