SMSF alliance defends tax breaks

The executive director of the SMSF Owners’ Alliance, Duncan Fairweather, said heavy savers should not be punished amid growing calls for the largest super balances to face higher tax payments. “People who work harder and save more are going to have larger superannuation balances – it doesn’t mean you’re rorting the system,” Mr Fairweather said in the body’s latest submission to the Financial Services Inquiry, according to the AFR.
