Sydney commuters may face delays as paper tickets scrapped

The New South Wales Opposition says commuters will face lengthy queues on Monday morning because they will no longer be able to purchase some of their regular tickets for public transport services.

The State Government is scrapping 14 paper tickets starting Monday, which means passengers will have to use the Opal card.

“I would say to people even if you think you’ve got a periodic ticket and you’re going to be worse off, do the sums, use the system and you will actually find that it is so convenient,” she said.
