What if Tabcorp could provide venues with a secure internet connection for its punters that allowed them to bet in-play on their mobiles while using the venue’s licence as a way to show they were doing it "in person"? “It is something that obviously we’re working on,” Mr Attenborough said. “We would love to develop that further … [That is] certainly the kind of thing the venues would love to see in place, because it is logical that if someone is definitely in the venue … they are essentially betting under the venue’s licence.
Mr Attenborough said digital integration could allow Tabcorp to promote other products like food, drink and entertainment to retail customers. “The more value we add back to the venues, the more likely the venues are to be content with us as a partner,” he said.
