Telstra squeeze to blame for higher internet prices: CloudFlare

According to Mr Prince, Telstra’s primacy in the market allows it to charge egregious transit prices — 20 times the benchmark ($200/Mbps) —  with CloudFlare paying about as much for bandwidth in Australia every month as it does to serve all of Europe. “That’s in spite of the fact that approximately 33x the number of people live in Europe (750 million) versus Australia (22 million),” Mr Prince said. “What's interesting is that Telstra maintains their high pricing even if only delivering traffic inside the country,” he added.
