The group will pay a fully-franked final dividend of 1. 5c per share on October 8 to members on the register at August 29. "The board now has the confidence to return to declaring dividends, which is a pleasing sign of the progress we have made," the group said. "Our intention is to pay a regular dividend of 50 per cent to 75 per cent of underlying net profit after tax.
The statutory profit was impacted by significant items totalling $80. 5 million, including a $189m after-tax charge related to landfill remediation which was partly offset by gains on the sale of a business.
