Wall Street erases losses on Yellen comments

US stocks reversed modest early losses as Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said the US jobs market was improving, while remaining non-committal about the impact on the central bank's policy.

The broad-based S&P 500 retreated slightly from Thursday's record, dipping 2. 88 (0. 14 per cent) to 1,989. 49, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index slid 2. 97 (0. 07 per cent) to 4,529. 13.
