We should have talked more about tax reform: Parkinson

According to The Australian Financial Review, Dr Parkinson said claims of unfairness would have been better met if the government had spoken more constructively about the need for tax reform. "In hindsight, having seen how this has gone, it’s unfortunate that we didn't spend more time talking about tax reform and spending reform and saying [the budget] is in a sense a first part of it," he said, according to the AFR. "We have to find ways of having a more mature discussion," he told a gathering the Young Economists' Network in Canberra this week.
